BZA Meeting Announcement- The Harrison Board of Zoning Appeals will meet on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at 6:30 p.m., at the Township
Community Complex, 6750 Outville Rd., Outville.
The purpose of this meeting is a public hearing to consider an application submitted by James and Stephanie Priestnal, 28 Gristmill Ct., requesting
a variance to split land along Outville Rd. that is only 130 ft. wide.
Immediately following the Priestnal hearing, there will be a public hearing to consider an appeal to the notice of zoning violation submitted by Penny
Smith, 120 Ford Avenue requesting extension of time to complete clean-up due to financial difficulties.
All meetings are open to the public.

September 16, 2010. Both sessions are open to the public and will be held at Kirkersville Elementary School (215 North 5th Street, Kirkersville).
During the session, the Zoning Commission will present information about the Business District Rezoning Project. During the past two years, the Zoning
commission has reviewed the existing district zoning as well as the future land use plan. The first result was a modified business district zoning regulation
(Article 15 ) that created different types of business districts, based on the use and size of the business. Previously, the township had a "one-size fits all"
business district.
The next step was to address where the business districts should be located within the Township. The Township residents have been clear that the desire is to
preserve the rural and residential nature of the area as well as to allow and encourage business growth. The future land use plan was developed to provide for
both goals and to specifically direct the business and commercial growth in areas that could support the growth, in terms of roads and other infrastructure
needs. Harrison Township lots along the current business district (Broad St, Outville Rd, Rt. 310 north of Pataskala, National Rd east of Kirkersville, Keller Rd
east of Kirkersville, and intersections of Watkins and Wesleyan Church Rds, Watkins and Hollow Rds, Watkins and Creek Rds, Smoke and Creek Rds, York and
Beaver Run Rds, and York and Refugee Rds.
The zoning Commission will have on display maps that show the Township's current zoning districts ( Harrison Zoning Map ) ,the proposed changes to the
districts ( Proposed Zoning Map )and the future land use ( Future Land Use Map ).

Casey Casto announced his retirement effective October 31, 2010. Casey is known by all in the township, county, builders and residents requesting permits, as
a dedicated and efficient officer of the Township. His dedication to the Zoning Office and support he has given to Township Trustees has been outstanding. He
was always ready to help and assist in zoning and other related areas of Harrison Township affairs.
Town and County Officials as well as residents and friends bid Casey, Best Wishes, for a happy and healthy Retirement on his last day on the job. The occasion
also gave people the opportunity to meet the new Zoning Inspector for the township, Tom Frederick.
